Tricks AND Treats Contest

Do you go batty over Halloween? Well, so does your ghostess with the mostest! Whether you cast a spell using a chamber of horrors or bring a little gruesome twosome, or threesome, we want your bewitching words! Just remember, pumpkins come, and pumpkins go, but a jack-o-lantern will steal the show! (Every entry must contain a pumpkin reference of some sort!)

My Reviews of the Stories:

Bake Me a Cupcake - Business owner and cupcake chef, Bella Swan, is used to being judged by her dyed hair and piercings. Then a boy who seems to be her polar opposite finds his way beneath her defences. Over melted toffee and pumpkin cupcakes, she finds herself falling hard. But what if

I loved this story, it is a great read and a sweet romance.  5 out of 5

Trickery - Halloween is the time of year when the creatures of the night are at their strongest to wreak havoc and have a little fun … and this year, they have their sight set on Bella Swan.

This is a scary Halloween mystery.  3 out of 5

Battle as Old as Time - Bella is the typical bad behaving teenager, or so she thinks, until it's revealed to her that not only is she adopted, she is also a witch, and apparently her destiny now awaits.

This is a good supernatural romance.  Will she choose good or evil.  3.5 out of 5

Fifth and Grand - "Important encounters are planned by the souls long before the bodies see each other." - Paulo Coelho

I enjoyed this romance with the twist at the end.  3.5 out of 5

Lost Souls - The pumpkin is used to create the jack-o'-lantern, a symbol of lost souls, or so the legend goes. But what you have first is simply a pumpkin. It is the nicks and scars that fashion the jack-o'-lantern, bring it to life, so to speak, much like they do our souls

This is a lovely story, a nice romance layered with angst.  4.5 out of 5

Things That Go Bump in the Night - Edward and Bella were too afraid to show their true feelings in high school. Could the Forks tradition of a Haunted Hayride finally bring them together?

A sweet story of two shy people in love with each other from afar.  3 out of 5


Panorama - A simple job assignment turns into much more for Angela Weber when she gets a chance to peek into the life and the love shared by Bella and Edward Cullen. Can Bella help her put the disjointed pieces of her life back together?
This is a nice story about reunions and working through new relationships. 3 out of 5
 

Moonlight Castle - Most legends are born when the storyteller needs to captivate their audience, make their story come to life. But for Bella Swan, a real life legend is about to become all too real.

This is a good story, very descriptive and a good backstory.  3.5 out of 5 
 

Will 'O The Wisp -Some legends say he's a man with the head of a pumpkin, leading people to their demise in the bog. Others say they're spook-lights, cast by spirits of the dead trapped on earth. But I say they're the lights of another world, the NeitherLands. Neither here nor there.

A good supernatural story full of  angst and mysterious beings. 4 out of 5
 

Trust in The Moon Goddess - Head Wizard Edward Cullen has waited ten All Hallows' Eves for his one True Mate. Will this be his year?

This is a lovely sweet supernatural romance.  I loved the concept.  5 out of 5
 

For the Love of Pumpkins and Edward Masen - Halloween never meant much to sixth grader Leah Clearwater. Until a knock on her back door changed everything. Will the Great Pumpkin bring her something extra special this year?

A cute little high school romance story. 3 out of 5
 

Jack's Little Lambs - This isn't Kansas and this isn't Oz. This isn't the Enchanted Forest where magic pumpkins lead us to our princes and our happily ever after's. This forest is the opposite, dark and haunting in its deadness; a nightmare. We don't know how we got here. All we know is that we are the hunted. BPOV. M for language and one lemon.

Wow.  This was a creepy, in a good way, Halloween story. It makes you want to know what happened and what happens next. 5 out of 5
 

 

Ritual -  Tensions between Bella and Edward peak after Bella's disastrous birthday party. Why does he continue to resist making her immortal? On All Saints' Eve, every pretense will bleed away. Violence, coarse language and lemons. New Moon AU.

This is a different telling of becoming immortal, Vampires and their mates.  3 out of 5

 

 

Sleepy Hollow - In the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," Ichabod Crane, after losing the hand of his love, Katrina, was taken by the Headless Horseman, never to be seen again. What if the legend wasn't quite true?

This is an interesting take on the Sleepy Hollow story intertwined with Twilight.  4.5 out of 5
